If you have the WS6 option on your 2000 TA, then you have the basis of the 2000 Firehawk. First performance: A standard Firehawk has a substitute special lower profile hood that includes heat extractors over the exhaust manifold areas, special 17 inch wheels and Firehawk tires, and a special exhaust system.

The ironic part about it was that the SCCA's Trans-Am racing class maintained a 5.0-liter (302-cubic-inch) maximum displacement rule, and the new Pontiac Trans Am came only with the 400-cubic-inch.

The WS6 package cranked that up to 320 hp and 345 lb-ft, and in 2001 both versions got a 5-hp and torque bump thanks to a new camshaft and the LS6 intake from the Z06 Corvette. A six-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission was available with either engine.
